Don't Cry For Me . . .

I was "surfing" the internet and listening to some music on my iPod, when I was struck with a this wonderful idea. Why don't I check out Whitney Houston's new album? I was really surprised what I heard. I was brought to tears. I listened to her new song, "I Look to You." It is a beautiful ballad. The words were moving but as I listened to Whitney, I realized her "sound" had changed. Just to check myself I listened to some of her earlier videos. And there was a distinctive difference. I'm sure some of it is her voice is older but wow! I'm not really sure what to say. All of that aside I wanted to say bravo to her for getting back on the horse. I'm not privy to any of her personal life but if it is anywhere close to what was portrayed in the media, she is a very courageous woman. When I sing it is like revealing a part of my innermost soul to world and to me she is revealing her soul again for the world to see and judge. And I hope this is just the beginning of her return to the music scene as musician not as tabloid gossip. :)

"All Right, Mr. DeMille, I'm Ready for My Close-up"

Here is a close up of Shadow!

Me and My Shadow . . .

Well, we have done it. We have gotten a dog. And you guessed it his name is Shadow. He was the dog of a friend who needed to find him a new home so we, I mean, I volunteered our home for the little rascal. He is a Brussel's Griffin mix and full of energy. The best part is there is never a dull moment when he is around. As you can see in the picture Karl's foot is almost bigger than Shadow. He weighs about 5-6 lbs and is all fur and teeth. But he is a good addition to our little family.

Five and a Half Months Later . . .

It is time to start catching up on the blogging. I have a lot to put on here but I have no idea where to start. It has been five and a half months since I have posted to this blog and really miss it. Of course I have not missed a day on Facebook. I did get married and move four thousand miles away somewhere in there. So, I guess I could cut myself some slack. But look for more updates soon!

Reading . . . The Other Spectator Sport!

If you looking for a book you just can't put down. I have two suggestions for you. "Something Borrowed" and "Something Blue" both written by Emily Giffin. They are both hilarious, sad, drama filled and thought provoking. You will love them both. I know I do. I started reading "Something Borrowed" about two weeks before I got married this April. The story involves a wedding or lack of and when I told my sister what the basic plot was she told me are you sure you want to read this right before your own wedding. I said, "Sure!" And I was right I laughed so hard my sides hurt. So pick a copy of both of them today. They are great reads!
