Hello Darlin' . . . Its been a long time . . .

Well, it has been almost a month since I have written/blogged. It has been just a little crazy here. Birthdays, wedding, funerals and not to mention holidays in there some where. Tomorrow, the first of the gals gets measured for her dress. I am so excited. That also means that I am NOT going to work tomorrow. We also have a big weekend planned. We are going to see Casting Crowns!!! I love those guys. But right now I am going to just rest and get ready for a busy holiday season.

With 150 days left . . .

I just wanted the world to know I LOVE KARL TRACY WORNOCK! I miss him a lot! And I can't wait to get married next year!

More Things for "The Wedding"

I finally got around to taking pictures of all the things that I "collected" for the wedding so far. These things include invitations, thank you cards and toasting glasses. So without further ado . .

Here Comes the Cake . . .

This is the cake I would like to have for my wedding. Of course, the flowers will be Calla Lilies and there will be a set of silver hearts on the top. Which hopefully I will be able to put on the site soon.

Well, All I can say is . . .

Nothing. All I can say is nothing. I'm having a not so good week. The job is getting to me. The family is getting to me. Even the weather is getting to me. It is so nice outside and I want to be out there but I have to be inside all day at work. But I am going to hopefully cure my work week blues by going to a good old country fair. There will be sun, dirt, and good old country fun. If any of you would like to cure your work week blues, you can join me at the Cotton Pickin' Fair in Gay, GA. It is this Saturday and Sunday. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend.

For Your Listening Pleasure . . .

I was watching an NFL football game this evening (Dallas v Philadelphia) and I was greeted with an odd feeling of annoyance.  There in the middle of the field was a young lady singing the national anthem. (I just checked yahoo and there were some very "colorful" reviews of her performance)  I didn't hear the crowd but it turns out she was booed, also.  And I can understand why.  I'm not really referring to her singing pre-se but her "poetic license" with the national anthem.  Today, almost every new song has a "dance mix," a "latin mix," a "club mix," etc.  The national anthem is not one of those type of songs.  I'm not suggesting that it be song in a classical or operatic manner but with some class.  It was so stylized I could hardly understand what she was singing.  My suggestion choose singers for ability not popularity.

New ~ Old Hobby

I think I'm going back to an old hobby but with a new sense of direction. So, we will see how that goes. By the way, the hobby is photography. The last picture is my favorite.

Good Night Moon.

I was out Saturday night and decided to take pictures of the moon. I'm not really good with the night mode on my camera but I thought the pictures turned out okay, as I am an amateur. I was thinking as I was taking the pictures, if the moon looks the same in Iraq (where Karl is) as it does here in Georgia. I'm pretty sure it does but I don't know. When I was in the United Arab Emirates, I never got a chance to look at the moon. But here are the pictures anyway. :)

Less aggressive you say . . .

Well I have done something I thought I would never do.  I have gotten in the face of danger and I didn't flinch.  Well, if you believe that spiders are dangerous.  I found some really interesting spiders around and I decided to snap some photos of them.  I have now come to realize that they are brown widow spiders.  Their venom is twice as potent as a black widow but they are less aggressive and only inject half the venom because they are more timid.  Now there is a laugh.  It still bites, doesn't it?  Anyway, a snapped a few shots and thought I would share with the class.

Mission: Staten Island

Howdy Y'all! We went to New York and we all survived.  By we I mean myself and 20 other people.  It was a Central Student Ministries mission trip with Piney Grove Baptist Church youth to Staten Island.  14 students and 7 adult leaders.  We were gone for 7 days.  We painted a school (Rocco Laurie - IS72) on Staten Island.  I think the totaled was 10 classrooms and 1 hallway.  But the end result was Crossroads Church will be able to meet there in the fall.  We also passed out bottles of water on the boardwalk with flyers and did door to door evangelism.  The students worked really hard. They deserve so much for all the work they did. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

The moment you have all been waiting for . . .

A few people have been wondering about my boyfriend and I.  Karl is from Oklahoma and in the U.S. Army.  He was here in Georgia for two weeks on leave.  He has now gone back to the desert and will be back here sometime in April 2009.  I miss him and can't wait for him to be home.  This is a picture of us here at home after the Braves win over the L.A. Dodgers.

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus!

Can you believe it snow in March in Georgia?  Here is the proof.  It was almost 80 degrees last week and today it snowed. It was only for about an hour but it did snow.

What did you just say?

I had a conversation earlier and I am confused.  When a person says "I want to ask you a question but I don't care about the answer," why are they asking the question?  And when they ask the question they follow it with more questions.  They ask for more details, what does that say to you?  I care about the answer, right?  Humans, they are so dramatic.  I am glad I am one of the non-dramatic ones. LOL
